2023 has definitely been an eventful year, which is unfortunate because I can't publish a lot of the things that happened in a blog post. However, here are the highlights I CAN highlight:
  • I was fortunate enough to attend a variety of screenings at the beginning of the year. I'm happy to say that many of your favorite celebrity actors really do try to be good to their fans. 
  • I spoke a couple of times at CSUN! Let me know if you'd like me to talk about being a multi-hyphenate producer. 
  • The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes were able to make some significant gains regarding AI!
  • I got some new headshots! 
  • I have made some headway with the my intentionally vague plans from the last blog post. If everything goes well, I can make a formal announcement in the coming year. 
  • I've finished my first draft of a one-person show! Now the question is: will I do anything with this? We'll see!

It may seem quiet, but here are some updates from the last several months:
  • I have been teaching theater acting classes, public speaking classes, and creative writing classes! If you are interested in some one-on-one coaching, please send a message!
  • My Hyph-Life Vlog Series has officially reached 100+ videos! Let me know what topic I should tackle next!
  • I'm working on various upgrades! Certifications for work (including the side businesses), reorganizing my living quarters, updating my investment strategy, meeting new people by going to places I wouldn't ordinarily frequent, etc. 
  • I'm apparently allergic to the dog that I'm dog-sitting. This is his third time staying over.

Here are some updates from the last year:
  • After appearing in my alma matter's alumni magazine last year, I have been speaking for various college classes on how to be a multi-hyphenate in the entertainment industry!
  • My Hyph-Life Vlog Series now has over 70 videos on all sorts of topics! If you would like to be a guest on the show, send me an email!
  • I took a break from Become An InstaGrandma and from My Extra Ordinary Productions because of some other work, but I'm offering discounts on both websites again!
  • Fred, Orthorexia, and Let Me Plan Your Life have all been going through the festival circuit! In fact, my predictions for Let Me Plan Your Life were more accurate than I had anticipated them to be!
  • I was able to turn my pandemic experience into another script! Hopefully, I'll also be able to shoot it and show it off!

The first video I released this year was just accepted into the Virtual Recover Film Festival and Symposium! Due to the current pandemic, this festival will be available online, November 6th, 2020. One of the goals of the festival is to shed light on topics dealing with mental health, and the first step to that is self discovery.

It was great getting to talk about my experiences as a multi-hyphenate working between entertainment, entrepreneurship, and education. Because of this article, I may be a guest lecturer for a class this coming September! It depends on the school curriculum, of course, but it's always reaffirming when someone wants to know about your own story. I'll be putting together some talking points, and would appreciate suggestions: what would you have liked to have known when you were starting out? This last weekend was incredible. Fred was featured in the Cambria Film Festival and I got to give some talks while I was there. The other filmmakers were all great to talk to, the selection was entertaining, and I couldn't have asked for better hosts.
I also took advantage of all of the tourist spots while I was there. If you happen to be in the area, I recommend stopping by Harmony (population 18), Hearst Castle, and the elephant seal preserve (depending on the season).
