Some of you who read this blog may have noticed that I had a review of 2017, and now I'm posting a review of 2019, but I never did one for 2018. I was probably busy at the time, but there's another thing: without getting into too many specifics, 2018 was a very tough year. I did initiate a few things in 2018, and I started to enjoy the fruits of that labor throughout 2019.
Thanks so much for reading these updates (click here to subscribe to my newsletter for updates and giveaways), and I hope 2020 gives us everything we could ask for.

My short film, Fred, was just accepted into the Simply Indie Film Fest! I won't be able to make it to this particular festival, but for those of you who happen to be in Edmond, Oklahoma can catch this film, along with several other shorts! Fred is specifically being shown at the 5:15 block on Saturday, February 22nd, 2020. Click here for more information and to get tickets!
I shot "Meet For Coffee" while I was working on another project back in June. It's based off a true story, but the story of putting this short together was also interesting. This video was so short that I didn't want to have a whole separate shoot day just to put it together, so I planned to shoot it in the afternoon after I had completed Orthorexia. I got a call that morning that the actress whom I had cast was no longer able to make it, so I ended up asking Santeon if she wanted to be in two shorts that day. Orthorexia is still in post production, and hope to have a viewable version up in the next few months! It's true what they say: The days are long, but the years are short. In honor of my 10 years of creating original content, I had a screening of my work. I rented a theater, invited some friends, made party favors, and I made sure to get a photo with all of the night's award winners.
The Deck is going to be featured in San Diego's Comic Con this year! I always enjoy seeing something I'm a part of go from its first inception to a fully-formed creation, and getting into something this prestigious is the icing on that cake. If you happen to be going to Comic Con this year, make sure to check it out! Hopefully, we'll be able to show the final product once it's made its way through the festival circuit.
I just finished shooting another short film, and as the kids say, "it was lit!" First, because Chris was our Director of Photography, so he brought a bunch of lighting equipment. Second, because of the awkward size and angles of everything, Chris and I accidentally turned on the stove at least three times.
Hopefully, this video will be edited by the end of July, and I can start submitting it to festivals! The Super Break Up video is finally online! This scene is an excerpt from a larger screenplay, The GoGirls, which will feature female, crime fighting superheroes. I just received a check in the mail for some of the children's books I've published! I honestly was not expecting this to happen for quite some time, and it totally justifies the work I've been putting into the latest book. I don't want to give away too many details, but the book I'm currently working on is another installment of the Slipping Beauty series, featuring some of your favorite characters from the previous two books.
