What I Did During My Summer Vacation

It's been a while since I've posted anything.  The other way of looking at it is that I've been busy!

US Performing Arts Camp was a great experience overall.  I got to work with some talented kids, meet some talented adults, and I was even able to get a photo in the elevator they used for Mad Men!  

I also took a Comedy Spec Writing class at Second City, where I got to work with Holly Wortel.  I wrote a spec script for an episode of BoJack Horseman in under a week!  It wasn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm still proud of myself for doing so much in the allotted timeframe.  Funny thing, though: A week after the class ended, they released a new season, featuring what was basically the episode I had been writing.  Great minds think alike, I guess.

In July, I was fortunate enough to have been able to make it to the East Coast!  I got to meet up with some friends, I had some cool, private tours, I got to take some nice photos, and I learned a valuable lesson in reading reviews before booking a room (long story short: I'm 5'8" and if I had been 5'10" I wouldn't have been able to fit in one of the rooms I stayed in).  I'm hoping to travel some more in the future.

After being a mentor, a writer, and a tourist, some people may wonder what else I could have possibly have fit in this summer.  Well, August involved a lot of Netflix, which I could justify as research.  I probably also took out the garbage at one point. 

Don't worry, though: I found some more projects to work on in September.  I look forward to sharing the next few things with all of my readers before the year is up.  Now, let's make some magic!
